Yeoin Yeon

The artist's primary means of visualizing her emotions is often through painting and drawing. However, she transcends the confines of any specific medium, exploring the realms of sculpture and video works, which derive from her paintings, as if imbuing life into bones and flesh. All of her works are highly labor-intensive, yet the sense of stability and the flow of time embedded in the repetitive acts themselves would have served as a means for her to organize her thoughts and give form to her emotions. The resulting creations unfold as a surreal and ambivalent world, akin to peering into the brain of one experiencing a near-death encounter. Within this realm, both innocent wit and a confrontational darkness that gazes directly at mortality coexist simultaneously.
